At Oxenpark, farming is simple.
Good grass and time. Nothing more.

We take hardy, native breeds and let them grow slowly on our premium grade Blackdown Hills pasture, allowing them to do what they do best – graze, forage in orchards, laze about in the Devon sunshine – with a minimum of intervention from us.

Which is why we farm organically (even though we can’t call ourselves Organic). That means that we medicate only when we have to, keep the use of insecticides to an absolute minimum (sometimes you have to for the animals’ comfort) and never, ever spray our fields with pesticides. Similarly, we go to great lengths to ensure that all our animals are slaughtered humanely and with a minimum of stress. Why go to all this trouble? Because a happy, well cared for animal is a tasty animal.

The result? Beef, pork and lamb with more taste and flavour than you’re probably used to, which means you’ll need less of it because you get fuller quicker. And that can only be a good thing as it is therefore becomes a more affordable proposition.

We are passionate about good food and believe that everyone should eat well, really well. And they can. We offer a range of produce to suit all budgets and lifestyles and, as a result, most of our customers are ordinary people rather than – dread word - Foodies.
